I'm hoping to upgrade to an i7 920 with either a 4870 or a GTX260 (not decided yet) in the nearish future, but I'm upgrading some things just now until I get enough cash for the proc/mobo/ddr3.

I'll probably start using it straight away - but I think the E2160 + 8600GT I have at the moment won't draw anything near what the GTX will need.

Basically I'm looking to spend < £75 on a decent PSU for that stuff. I'll probably be overclocking the 920 to match the speeds of the 940, and I only have 1 HD and 1 DVD drive.

Is 600W enough? If not, recommendations?

TIA.

Any decent 600W in the £60+ range sold by OC should be able to run a 920 and GTX260.

Probably an idea to pick 1 or 2 you like the looks of and check back here to see if it's ok. :)

Thanks for the recommendation, I didn't realise PC Power & Cooling were owned by OCZ now.

If the 450W Corsair is good enough, will this handle it? I realise the Corsair is probably a lot more efficient than this - but it's what I've got at the moment.

Stick to the common brands like Corsair, PC&C and others.
Personally would go for the PC&C 610watt out of the above.

If your looking to go SLI/Crossfire in the future you would need 800+ watt PSU

For £13 more the PC&C 610watt make much more sence in the long run.
It would take a 295GTX without a sweat.

The VX450 would work, but limits future upgrades. If your looking at an i7 920 system, skimping on a psu just to save £13 would seem a bit odd. :)

PC&C 610watt is very good value for money.
