Hi all,

I am trying to spec and purchase a decent PSU for my build. Whenever I settle on one I find it's not in stock.

I have currently stopped at the Gigabyte Aorus GP-AP850GM.

My build does only require around 455W according to an online pc building tool I have been using, but this allows for breathing space if I want to spice things up a little. My PC:

Case: Fractal Meshify C
Mobo: MSI X570 Tomahawk WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 5800X
Cooler: (Likely) BQ Dark Rock Pro 4
GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
Storage: 2 x NVMe drives
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 32gb

The only other items I can think that would use power would be extra cooling fans but I'm not sure I need them as my build is fairly low to mid-range spec.

Does anyone have one of these Gigabyte Aorus GP-AP850GM PSUs and would like to share their experience?

It would appear that the Gigabyte Aorus psu you are looking at is now discontinued so stock remianing with retailers is all that is left. It's also quite a bit higher than the suggested retail price of £124.99 at all retailers that still have it. In reviews it does very well and has a 10 year warranty. It does have downsides though. It only has 6x sata cables which is a joke for a 850w psu. The connectors are only 100mm apart instead of the normal 140-150mm. The fan ramps up very quickly at high loads and gets noisey. Why on earth they decided to have a hardwired hdd plug instead of a extra sat or molex plug is just a ridiculous thing to do. I have never heard of the oem, MEIC so have no idea of how reliable these will be.

A good quality 650w should be more than enough for that build so here is a selection of 650-750w psu's that should suit your build.
