Hi well im upgrading my Graphics card to a nvidia GTX 550 Ti and just wondering if my 450 watts power supply could handle it? On nvidia website it says that minimum recommended psu is 400 watts but i just want to be sure because i've heard if your psu is junk it doesn't matter about the watts. So any recconmendations are welcome, my budget for power supply no more then £60 and my pc case isnt too big ethier.

I wouldn't buy a 550Ti. The 460 is actually still better (comparison) and that's at the stock 675mhz clock. To add insult to injury it still beats the new GPUs like AMDs 7770 and Nvidias 650. 2nd hand you should be looking ~£50 for a 1GB 460 and they also overclock well so you can reap even better performance on a tight budget.

430W would be ok, a modular PSU sounds like it might be handy. Have a look at the corsair builder series. 500W would be nice but with the P&P it might well go over the budget you have set.
