Looking to spend no more than £60 ideally. Just something fairly cheap but dependable that could possibly be used with a more powerful single card upgrade in the future. I have been using an old Coolermaster 500w donated for free from a friend, but it has now died.

XFX PSu's are really decent, especially the TS range.

I bought a couple of 450w, and they're absolutely silent.

Seasonic built, with 5 years warranty.

Thanks all. Which would be best for a future GPU upgrade? For example if I need 2 power connectors on the graphics card. I will keep my cpu and mobo, but would like a psu that could handle a more powerful and more likely power hungry card later on. My low end card only needs one power connector.

Uh, nice what?

Nice spec.

I could have sworn Shivy's post wasn't there before as I wouldn't have bothered posting my suggestions else.

Yeah, I didn't see it either:confused:

Any but I'd go with the EVGA GS 550W or spending £10 extra and going with a 650w might be a better option for other upgrades and overclocking.

They all have multiple gpu power leads. The Antec Truepower Classic 550w has a pair of 6+2 pin leads and 540w on the 12v rail, the EVGA GS550w has 4x 6+2 pin leads and 540w on the 12v rail, The Seasonic M12II 520w has a pair of 6+2 pin leads and is the weakest of the lot with only 480w on the 12v rail, The Superflower FX550 has a pair of 6+2 pin leads and 504w on the 12v rail.

If it was me I would be getting the EVGA Supernova GS 550w while it's on special offer (price goes back up tommorrow). It's gold rated, fully modular, has a hybrid fan mode and a 5 year warranty. When it's at full price it doesn't make sense to buy it as the 650w version is only a extra fiver then.

I ended up straying a little and ordered the EVGA Supernova G2 750. It seemed like a good idea after a few beers, not so sure now! Oh well, at least I should be ok for a future single card upgrade.
