Hi Guys,

Not sure this is in the right section, I apologies if not . . im looking for a good PSU to run 2 x GTX 260 BFG . . . It will need at least 4 pci-e cables to power them.

I currently have:

CM - stacker 100 case, the thing is huge . . you could swing a cat inside that thing.

striker extreme motherboard
Intel Dual core 3.33 ghz
BFG GTX 260 OC 216 edition
4 GB reaper ram
1 raptor HD 32 GB
1 Samsung 500 GB HD
Razer Copperhead + Tarantula
Samsung 24" LCD HD screen

& the PSU I use is 500w with molex adapters converted to PCi-e to power the GTX 260.

I have just been given another GTX 260 and would like to run SLI, so can you suggest a good PSU that will easily run 2 x 260 GTX in SLI please?

Any help appreciated.

Best

The Antec has 2x 6 pin and 2x 8 pin PCI-e connectors. :)

For the money it's a cracking psu and has recieved excellent reviews.

Yeah it a lot cheaper than some of the PSU's I have been looking at . . . Excuse me for being a dunce - I need 4 x 6pin PCi-e slots, will the 2 x 8pin pci-e on the Antec have the sliding mechanism to bring them down to 6pin?

It will probably be 6+2 pin plugs. I will go and see if i can confirm this for you.

***Edit*** Yes. 2x 6 pin and 2x 6+2 pin plugs.

Also looking at upgrading the 24" to a dell ultrasharp 27", I know im going off on a tangent here & not sticking to the PSU, are they worth the money? as I see the dell ultrasharp brand as a premium . .

Can't comment on the Dell but i have the 1920x1200, 27.5" Hanns-G and the screen size is awesome.

I've used a Tagan 600w with my 260's in the past and had no problems. Any decent 650w(ish) unit should be fine. :)

I use a 28" HannsG and the extra punch of the additional card really help in the majority of games @ 1900x1200. You should see a good gain!

Few people have said the Hanns G has reliability issues . . the price is smashing for what you get - but really weary of it breaking 15 months later ect . .

Yeah, not sure about the new ones - got mine a while back.

Probably best going for better if you can afford it.

I more meant the whole resolution factor - two 260's @ 1900x1200 is definitely a big improvement over one. :)
