However, The PSU is at the hub of all systems; new builds, old systems, faulty systems and so on. It's use is more generic. Plus a another Forum means the knowledge is going to be even more thinly spread.

I can see the use of it, but the RAM section is almost empty much of the time, and past a certain point when 'buy a Corsair' has been rammed down peoples throats enough times, it's going to be pointless. Maybe a PSU thread stickied at the top of the General Hardware forum, with recommendations for certain budgets/set-ups on the first page.
PSU thread would be a bad idea.
There is always an argument between people who insist on building a £1500 PC and powering it with a £40 PSU and those who do it properly..
