PSU / G-card

Just bought an XFX 275gtx.

On the XFX website it recommends

"Minimum Power Requirement (Watt):
This is the minimum power supply wattage requirement for the graphics card to perform properly.
630 Watt with two 6-pin"

Is this necessary?

Just found a PSU made by Alpine?! anyone heard of these any bad reviews / experiences?

A good 500-550w is enough

never heard of Alpine, dont they make car stereo equipment?

Just searched Alpine, £12 for a 500w PSU, you probably need a 1mw psu to run that card. A quality branded psu from Corsair or BeQuiet with 530w psu will be fine.

Alpine PSUs, are these the PSUs that cost around £15 for a 500W unit?

I would strongly suggest against putting that PSU near a nice (and power hungry) graphics card like the GTX 275.

If you would like a recommendation for a good quality PSU that will power a GTX 275, this is a good unit and good value.
