I have bad my PC built for over a year (thread in case central) and running faultlessly until last week when it started playing up. It's complicated - have to turn machine on and off at the back and press the case button as well, refuses to turn off from Windows, also causes 3 phase lights on the gfx card and 1 on the mobo to light up. However once on, it works perfectly.
My online research and swapping over various components with my brother's machine has led me to find out the PSU is definitely at fault with him getting the exact symptoms.
As he bought it and gave it for me, he's going to see if OCUK will replace it within warranty but just in case it'll be a slow process or they refer him to the manufacturer abroad, we are looking at alternatives which he suggested:
Corsair HX 650W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply @ £100
or
XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply @ £90
Just wondering if anyone had other recommendations, maybe cheaper? Has to be modular, reliable and min 600W I reckon.
