PSU good enough?

Just picked up a XFX R9 280 Black Edition OC from the MM from w3bbo. Cannot wait to get her, and for £105 I ain't complaining.

Question...

I run the FX 6350 at stock speeds and have the XFX Pro550W Bronze PSU... please tell me I have enough juice to run this card.

No overclocking or anything like that is going to happen.

Don't really want to buy a new PSU.

Should be fine, the GPU uses about 200 W at load.

not too sure if this is your card or not but the below link shows the power usage under load and idle.

under load states 305 and idle is 108

hope this helps, looked on another site (below) and states the min power supply is 750w and recommend a 850w PSU

Your current psu will be fine.

I think you be lucky to pull 300w from the mains whilst gaming.

I know, it does seem very high.

as you have already ordered it give it a try and see how it goes, depends on how much power the rest of the system uses.

says that it needs 1 x 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin for power, your PSU has 1 of each.

what GPU are you using at the moment?

Your well within the recommended power supply, just done the Coolermaster one and it come up with 488w as the minimum spec.

Worse case you could always invest in a power monitor

I have one and did my system and got 330w with a 4770k and a GTX 670 plus custom water.
