i am changing psu to seasonic g650/7060 psu, is this a good psu ? I had a coolermaster gm 750 bronze, and im getting coilwhine in gpu. is 650 watts enough ? i7 4790k overclockerd,g1 gtx 980ti,3 120mm fans,1 ssd and 1 hdd, wlan card my budget is about 100 pound

I have the Seasonic G series 750w and have no coil whine although I am running a GTX780 and it would appear that the 900 series have the coil whine problems. Funnily enough we had someone on here with the 650w version of your psu suffering with coil whine with a 970. At the time the Superflower Platinum psu's were the same price as the gold rated ones so we advised him to go for the Superflower Leadex Platinum 550w and his coil whine disappeared.

Personally I wouldn't buy a Seasonic at the current prices as I feel they are overpriced. Mine was on offer when I bought it and the current price of £105 is just too much for a semi modular unit when you can get fully modular ones with hybrid fans for less. Some are even Seasonic built units such as the EVGA GS series and all XFX units. Take a look at these:-

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex Platinum 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black £98.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £94.99
1 x XFX XTR 750W '80 Plus Gold' Fully Modular Power Supply £89.99
1 x EVGA Supernova G2 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £74.99
Total : £368.56 (includes shipping : £8.00 Ex.VAT).

In case you are wondering 650w is more than enough for your pc even with overclocking and will still leave a considerable amount of spare headroom.

The EVGA G2 units are built by Superflower and based on their own Leadex gold psu's but have no led's and a longer warranty. The 650w has 7 years and the 750w has 10 years.

The XFX is a Seasonic built unit with a 5 year warranty.

The Superflower Leadex Platinum has a 5 year warranty but it does have bright leds where you plug the cables in that can't be turned off.
