PSU Got what it takes?? Help please??

Man those people are weirdos :p

For myself I got a RM850 on a sale for a 2500K + 680 build as I planned on going SLI. In the end I upgraded to a single 780 then a single titan. At which point the system drew about 50% under max load where the psu is most efficient plus all that headroom meant that the fan didn't even spin. PSU was sent back due to a unit recall and was replaced with a RM1000. Seems like I am one of those weirdos

Also some of the really good PSUs with massive warranties are only available at higher capacities. Or you find that getting an extra 100-200W costs only an extra £20 on a £120 purchase which is easy to justify.
ha wierdo ;)
It's silly really I know a mate who is running Sli 2xgtx960 and has a 1200w PSU.... Does he really need it.... If I bought another gtx980 and Sli would the 650w cope then?

i think we are all guilty of that. When I built my pc back in 2012 I went with a 7870XT and a 750W XFX psu with the intention of going cf with another 7870XT or 7950 later on. Then the mining thing happened :D

No, not for 980 Sli. The Coolermaster GX is a poor quality psu. You could run on a quality 650w but personally I would want 750w, maybe 850w for the spare headroom. Have a look at these:-

The EVGA's with their 10 year warranty would be my choice.
