Hello! :) Just wondering if anybody would be able to help me as I'm having a little trouble. I'm building a computer for the first time and some of the parts I purchased are:
YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (04G-P4-2974-KR) £281.99
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £77.99
Total : £369.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Will I be able to power the GPU using the 2 8 pin cables (the GPU is 6 pin) that come with the PSU? The cables have a connector with 6 pins and then another connector next to it with 2 pins.
The GPU came with some 6 pin cables that have a weird end on them. (I think the weird end is a molex connector but I'm not entirely sure) Any idea on what these are and if I have to use them?

Thanks! :)

Thats right, the 6+2 join together to make an 8 pin.

Use the cables from the PSU directly.

Do not for the love of god use those nasty molex to pci adapters, they are for awful PSUs that are not fit enough to even power a potato.

Plug the 6 pin part into the connector (Ignore the 2 pin part as that is for gpu's with 8 pin connectors)

Do the same for the 2nd gpu connector.

So you will end up with 2 x 2 pin just hanging loose.

Ah, that makes sense! I'll leave the 2 pin connectors hanging loose :) Thanks guys! One more question, the plug that comes from the Superflower PSU and plugs into the wall... It doesn't fit into British plugs. Any idea what adapter I will need?

The PSU should have been supplied with a free uk 3pin kettle lead included separately in the box by OcUK.

Or use a travel adapter (i wouldn't) or go buy a kettle lead in the morning.

Or you may have one lying around (check the fuse rating).

Okay, I didn't see one in the box but it could just be me. I'll have another look in the morning. If not then I'll go and buy one tomorrow. :) Thanks again!

If you don't mind waiting to turn it on you can always tell customer services you didn't receive one.
