Hello,
Recently over the last 2 weeks the coil whine from my gpu and psu has been getting more common.
I have had issues with my EVGA 1080 FTW coil whine for a while its my third replacement two of which had bad coil whine issues and the third popped into flames which is why replaced my old 650w antec psu with my current one. the RGB doesnt work on my last replacement too amongst some other issues but thats another story.
Recently i've noticed that my PSU has an started to get the same whine too. It wasn't apparent before.
I have a Super Flower Leadex Platinum 850W Power Supply. I'm wondering if the cause my be that the GPU is only running off one cable with 2 x 8 PIN connectors.
I thinking of RMA'ing the GPU but I'm also now worried my PSU may have the same issue or if maybe gpu is causing it. It is pretty audible especially on initial boot.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Raz
