PSU/GPU combo on a budget

Hi Guys,

I posted on here a while ago looking for advice on upgrading my Dell Studio 540 and got some great ideas (original thread here if you care) but basically i didn't get to implement any of the advice because my budget needed to be spent elsewhere...

I'm still sitting on the same set-up as before and still want to play current games and after reading this thread i'm hoping that i can replace my PSU and GPU to get by until next year when i'll hopefully have a bit more loose change to replace my whole system

with this in mind can you guys spec me a PSU/GPU combo that will let me play MW3 and Battlefield 3 and keep me up to date for the immediate future please?
Budget: the lower the better but lets shoot for around the £150 mark?

Would prefer the Antec TP-New 550W since IMO it's a better unit although it's a little more expensive but it's out of stock at the mo. Hope this helps!
 
Thanks guys, some good options for me to look at

Which currently out of stock PSU's are you thinking of? i could be tempted to wait for them to be back in stock if they are much better (or are they going to be out of stock for a while like the HDD prices?)
 
The cx430 only has one pci-e 6+2 connector so won't run many of the cards recommended. I have got this problem at the moment. I bought one without enough research on the basis of the good reviews and thought that I wouldn't want a card needing 2 connectors but now I realise how limiting it is and I am thinking of returning it and getting something else.

I couldn't find much info on the Bequiet but the Lepa looks to have poor quality capacitors

Good point that I may have overlooked, quick noob question: does a 6 pin and a 6+2 do the same thing? The graphics card I'm going to get needs 2 x 6 pin connectors so would a 6 and a 6+2 be ok?

Should be, because the +2 literally is a loose extension of the 6 on my PSU. It's a bit like the 6 is your fingers and the 2 is your thumb :).
