PSU & GPU upgrade

Hi all @ Overclockers UK

With a number of up-coming games I'm worried about my pc not being good enough to run some of them. For example, I saw that one system requirement for CoD: MW2 was a 7800 graphics card or better - I only have a 7300.

I'm looking to upgrade my PSU and GPU for up to £100 and to run these games at least.

I have a Leonite 2 motherboard - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01080268&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3463943
3GB of RAM
Currently 300W PSU
Intel Core 2 Duo 4400 @ 2.00GHz
Windows Vista 32-Bit.
and £100.

I was thinking maybe the 4670 but I have no clue of which PSU..

Modern Warfare 2:
OS: XP/Vista
CPU: Dual Core 2.4 GHz
RAM: 1 Gb
Video card memory: Nvidia Geforce 7800 / ATI Radeon X1800
Disk space required : 8 Gb
DirectX®: 9.0c

Will my CPU even be able to run this?

Overview:
  • Power Supply
  • Graphics card
  • Both for £100 maximum.

Help would me much appreciated, thanks.

I'm gonna upgrade to <the 4770> ready for MW2. Pretty good price & low power consumption.

Run this past the others first, but this is the best I could pull together. Good luck bro :) I know how it feels to be on a super tight budget.

If you've not already pre-ordered this site offering MW2 for £24.99 may be a good look, I'm on the fence with them though as I've never even heard of them post today

Thanks very much guys! Helped very much! Do you know anywhere where I can check the sizes of the cards/PSU to check that they will fit my case?

Are these the dimensions for the 4730?:
Length: 220mm
Width: 100mm
Height: 33mm

Dang, I think the space between the RAM and the card will be minimal. They will touch I think.

You could always try overclocking the CPU to meet the 2.4ghz requirement.

I think its ok. I checked the requirements for CoD4, which I've played since its release and that says 2.4 also. My CPU passes that recommended requirements for it supposedly.
