hi guys i recently baught a lepa 750w modular psu and its doing its job great but i just been told that having the fan ointing upward is bad due to lose parts screws ect can drop in, however it has no fan vent on the bottom so if i flip it over will this cause my psu to over heat or be less efficent? case has decnt airflow its a antec 902 last psu was a silent therletake one with no fan so not sure, thanks in advance

?? I can see their point but if that concerns you then cover the fan whilst working inside the case remembering to remove it afterwards. As log as warm air is exhausted out of the case and has a supply of cool'ish air from within then it's orientation doesn't really matter. In the cae on the Antec, the fan pointing upwards is quite common.

When working in your case put a bit of paper over the fan vent. This way nothing can drop in there. You shouldn't really have any loose stuff at any other time. If you've got no fan vent then rotating the PSU would be a bad idea, unless there is sufficient clearance under it for airflow.

I'd say it probably will, the rubber pads don't seem to keep the psu off the floor of the case so it'd be choking the psu if faced downwards. The antec 1200 has bigger pads which sit the PSU about 1cm~ off the floor which was sufficient for me to run my PSU facing downwards for a long while.

If the PSU can't get decent airflow it'll run warmer which means it's efficiency will be lower than if it did have decent airflow. Could possibly overheat it if you run it for long periods under heavy load like that.
