Hey guys,

I've almost completed my new PC however im a little concerned whether or not my current PSU will provide sufficient juice to run the comp. My specs are detailed in my sig i but for quick reference the power supply i currently have is a Tagan 530W-U22. What do you guys think ?

Thanks in advance !

The graphics will be a PSU killer from what i ahve heard, but i cant see your rig going over 450 watts myself to be honest. So i think you should be fine with your Tagan.

Thank you for the quick response, hopefully it will be fine, i just don't want to mess anything up when i run my PC so im trying to check everything is ok. My main concern was the graphics card and hearing how people have had to get 700w power supplies to be able to run a similar set-up. Fingers crossed though lol. Thanks again!

tbh its not the wattage that tends to be the problem, its the amps on the rail. I cant see a problem with your powersupply and that rig, and 700 watts is way over kill if you ask me, i have a similar setup myself except my graphics is a 7900GTX and i take only 380 watts!!! so i cant see yours being 140 watts more!

Like Blue Cypher says it should be fine, a lot of people over-estimate the power required, it doesn't hurt but it can be overkill.

Your signature appears to have rather too many lines though, you can have 4 lines of normal text according to the FAQ. :)

Yeah just realised about my sig lol, sorry about that :). Anyway may i ask why you say a Tagan power supply might not be a good idea ?

because far too many of them are going bang lately. enough to stop me recommending them entirely.

oh right, didnt know, then again i had an antec true power 2.0 and that went bang after 1 year, then a modstream after 3 weeks!!!

Right guess im gonna have to look around a bit more, if any one knows of a decent PSU for my set-up, plz feel free to make your suggestions. Dont worry about money, im pretty sure a PSU isnt going to be breaking the bank. Thanks!
