PSU help!

Been offered too much money for my current system to say no, so I'm basically selling it and upgrading to Conroe earlier than I thought.

So I should be buying...

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-126-IN)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-061-GI)

Going to be getting a Scythe Ninja at a latter date and a X1800XT. But I need to try and get a case and a PSU to power everything and try and stay on budget.

So I have around £40ish, maybe more if it's really needed, but I've been told I need to make sure the rails can handle it, but I have no idea what I should be looking for.

So any help would be appreciated.

Well, as I have told you already, the cheap PSU I gave to you is only 17a on the 12v rail and has no over-voltage/under-current protection despite it being a 600w PSU, so that is a no-go and would probably explode if it came in contact with that Core 2 Duo setup and an X1800XT. Especially since it killed one of my hard disks last year.

I think that the Antec case with 400w should work as it has 25a on the 12v rails, and my current PSU has 29a on the 12v rails, but that case + PSU is £64. To be on the safe side I still recommend that FSP Sparkle 400w @ £32 as it has 36a on the 12v rails, and a cheap case to go with it.

The Antec case you just asked me about, with the 380w PSU, also has 25a on the 12v rail so it should suffice... Should.

Anyway, what about the:

Antec NSK4400 Mini Tower Case - 380W SmartPower PSU (CA-052-AN)

Bit less expensive and closer to my budget.

Unless I can save money on the RAM mentioned above maybe.

Aye that PSU is just as good as the 400w one in the other case, despite having less total peak watts. I would like a second opinion before I say "buy it" but I think it will do the job.
