psu help.

i have an old psu 300w which only has a 20pin, this boots up a new matx skt 775 mobo i have but instantly powers down..

my hiper (580) in main rig (with 24pin and 4pin) powers it fine so its not a dead mobo.

is the instant power down due to not having a 24pin and 4pin connection? And not the wattage? I need a small (matx or smaller) psu but only low watt i presume, can pickup a 300-400 watt with all the connection for a tenner or so, just want to make sure that not having all the connections in is doing this.

yes i would say its not having all the connectors.

mind you what are yu running in your rig. if you have loads in then i guess it could be psu overload so its shutting down. but to me more likley the connctors.

it was just the mobo with a cpu in and a stock q600 cooler. lol

Getting the matx enermax psu (ocuk sell them) and a 20 to 24 pin. Has the extra 4 pin too so should be ok
