PSU help - which will run my system??

Hi,

Im running a quad 3.00GZ Q9650 CPU , 4GB DDR
and 1X BFG GTX 280 OC GFX card

Ive been having a few issues where the GFX card would cut out (red light at back) randomly. I was just about to send it back when i realised it may be a power issue. Checking the minimum spec on the card it needs a minimum 575watts and a combined 12V current rating of 42A or more, i have 600watts and 38A. oups!!!

not enough juice!!

Anyways im lost with which power supply to go for, my initial reaction is the 1000W Zalman ZM1000-HP but i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as i have no idea if this PSU has enough combined ampage

I have no plans to run SLI right now but may in the future...

You could drop down on the wattage rating, 600 will stand you in good stead for future upgraades.

Look at something like a Corsair HX 620, or the TX 750 for extra insurance. Either will power your rig with no problems.

+1 corsair 620w, it has an amp rating of 52A, so it's more then enough.

If that one is too expensive you could always try this...

yea +1 corsair there great little PSU's excellent performance I've had to now and my HX520 easily chugs along with the heavy load I put it under.
