I Recently purchased a PSU off the Members market and started to build a new pc this weekend. When i came to attach all the power cables there wasn't a 8pin mobo connector (P8 connector) anywhere.
The brand of the PSU is BeQuiet! Dark Power pro 750W, which is also a modular PSU. Now I would usually expect one 8pin mobo connector to be bundled with the main line that comes out of the PSU but on this PSU there is only the 24pin connector and the 8pin connector is a separate modular cable.
Now the problem is the seller didn't include this cable. Whilst I wait for the seller to find the specific cable would it be possible to use one of the PCI-E power cables to connect to the 8pin mobo header? (the one near the CPU).
The difference with this wire is that the PCI-e cables are both 8 pin connectors are the PSU and GFX, whilst the missing P8 Connector is 10pin at the PSU and 8 at the Mobo... this is my concern.
This is being plugged into a new Sandy Bridge build btw. If it is ok to use the PCI-e line, are there any potential issues?
The cable missing is the yellow P8 connector.
