I tried my first build took me a while go to switch it on and no luck at all. tried a few different things but no luck. so thought i would take out the main power conector. i looked at all the pins 20 or 24 how many it ever is. and notice there is one missing the gold bit sorry dont now the proper word.
Would this be the cause of the problem?

its a XFX Pro 850W Core Edition Power Supplyhttps://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-XF

MOBO is Asus P8P67 Pro R3 P67 Socket 1155 8 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

Pin 20 is the -5V line. It's not been used for years. Perfectly normal.

So just to check why it's not working.

1. Did you connect the cpu power, 6 pin atx? Plugs in next to the cpu socket?
2. Does your graphics card need power?
3. Did you use standoffs, gold screws to go between your motherboard and case?
4. ram correctly inserted?

If none of the above fix your problem. Post back with your full specs.

i dont think i did did the 6pin atx . I know there was an eight one but according to the manual it was ok to use a four pin socket. but someone else said has to be eight. But the PSU dont support that.
yes graphic cards need power. which i gave.
and did do the other board bit right i belive. Ill post my layout for you.

i was told all this would work fine together. But to me the case seems to small. As the PSU wires take up allot of room :) and the two GPU

yeah thats the one. i can plug in one pin fine. but the other one does not match up. and im using the 4x4 one. so will it be fine to put it in? as its four of the same squares with a rounded top. so sorry dont know the proper terms :( as all new to this. ill atke out a card as well.

no luck all that happens is a green light on the mother board on. And the case lighting flicks on for 1 sec then dies. :(
Maybe i should pull it all out again and start a fresh. then just do it with one card.

There is a red light on in the top right corner of the mother board is this good or bad?
