PSU help

400W for the GPUs.

20W for the RAM

20W for the HDD

130W for the i7, although this can be lower if you undervolt and underclock.

No idea what a motherboard uses under load so let's say 50W.

I'd say that's a little high draw for that PSU to be honest. I'd probably go 750W+

When I did the Extreme PSU test it came out with a 661W result and that's leaving the i7 at stock.

I've got the power supply and it runs my i5 system very happily, but I only have one graphics card. If I were you I'd take Tealc's advice and go for something bigger, just to be sure.

The problem with the OCZ StealthXStream II 600w is the lack of connectors, it only has enough PCIe connectors for one 5870.

You could use peripheral (Molex) to PCIe adapters, the OCZ600SXS2 has 5 peripheral connectors and you would have to use four of them to provide two extra PCIe connectors which would only leave one for fans, optical drive, etc.

If you only need one connector for peripherals then it'll be fine, you can daisy chain fans up and connect them to one peripheral connector, but I think you will have to go up to or slightly over your £60 budget. And usually I recommend 750W PSUs for builds with two 5870s, altho I haven't looked at power consumption figures for awhile.

So the minimum I would use for that build would be the XFX 650W Core Edition 80Plus Bronze £66
