was originally going to get the corsair rm1000x psu but considering getting the rm850x instead to save a little money and because the rm1000x is out of stock but the motherboard i intend to get (MSI B850 EDGE TI) uses 2 8 pin power connectors and 1 8 pin pcie power connector for additional power, the rm1000x had connectors for the 2 power connectors and 4x pcie so enough for a 3x8 pin gpu and 1 x8 pin for the motherboard pcie but the rm850x only has 3 pcie connections, is it worth waiting for the rm1000x to come back in stock or will the rm850x be ok.

To clarify, what are you saying? That you would be unable to use the motherboard's additional 8-pin PCI-E connector?

You have/are getting a 9800x3d and a 9070xt. Realistically 750w is fine for the above combination.
Just get the 850w and be done with it. You're just over things tbh.

it i get the corsair 850w i can populate the 2 cpu connectors but if i get a gpu that needs 3 pcie's then i cant put one in the motherboard additional pcie slot, but if i get the corsair 1000w i can.

although i just noticed the 9070 xt powercolor red devil says "Minimum System Power requirement 900 w", so it sounds like i should go for the 1000w just in case.

That's what I was referring to, if you look on reddit, there are comments about the new MSI motherboards with the PCIE connector and they're apparently not needed. I think MSI put that there for future cards, but I believe the 50 series mainly draw from their external power connectors, not from the motherboard.

Personally, I don't find the RMx series to be anything special, so if you don't want to wait, I'd choose an alternative.
