Bought a tank of a PSU a decade ago, it's been and currently still is flawless but it's getting on a bit. Not sure what will happen when it fails, I suspect it'll just die and not trash my system but who knows.

It's an Enermax MODU87+ 600W

No way to know, some show signs and start failing over a period, others just go pffftt never to work again. If it's outside warranty, it won't hurt to watch out for something nice on a sale, i'm sure they'll be a few good deals popping up as we move into the new year.

I'll keep an eye out for a replacemt, what are good brand these days? Enermax and Seasonic were the best when I picked this one up. The Enermax was deffo more expensive to buy, but it's been solid for a decade so worthwhile.

Seasonic and phantek they're made by seasonic as well

Don't see much point changing it out if it's still going strong. If it does fail its very unlikely it'll take the whole system with it!

This. Mine is quite old too. I am keeping an eye out for some Phanteks and Seasonic.

mine is also an enermax. Not missed a beat.

EVGA and Superflower also if you stick to gold rated. I had an Enermax before my EVGA, was great until it wasn't (same with the EVGA, failed gracefully in both cases).
