PSU is Buzzing!!!

do you think this means its time for a new one?

its a 400 watt that i got with an old case lol, ive got 2 80Gb h/d and 1 160 h/D in at the mo plus my gfx card a 7900gs with a zalman cooler, and 2 120mm case fans and a 80mm case fan :eek:

i have no idea its a cheap one lol, i need a supply like a coolmaster 500Watt iGreen SLI Ready Intelligent as it comes with adapters as i have a silverstone tj06 case, needs long long cables

I'd say it's time for a new one yes, the risk of it popping is great, and might take other parts with it. Not a risk I would be willing to take.

i turned my volume down expecting a *BANG* lol. Q-Tecs are shocking. Used one for 2 years in my old rig. Thankfully it was ridiculously overpowered so i wasn't putting too much load on it.

I also run a generic psu atm, i want to get a X1950 Pro but im scared of the psu popping and i dont have any cash for another one

anyway to the OP. as said yeah definitely time for a new one buddy, regardless of it buzzing any reasonable machine these days needs a good brand psu imo.
