Hello again! My Corsair HX 650W is ticking. It only does this about half the time but its starting to annoy me and worry me that there could be a more severe underlying problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Anderson.

The fan on mine became very noisy, poke something through the grill to stop the fan, push it onto the centre of the fan though not the blades so you don't damage them. Your ok doing this for a few seconds.

I will RMA mine at some point (again, it was already a brand new RMA replacement just 7 months ago), replaced it with a fanless PSU, sick of PSU fans turning loud.

My PSU is about 2 weeks old :p Brand new build. Is there any software that can allow me to change the speed of my PSU fan? Trying to see if the speed that it spins affects the noise.

Just RMA it, it a good brand and i would not take defects of any type when buying nice new parts.

on a second note, is your systems dusty, dust and grime build up in PSU and make cables move and touch the fan, or it may just be a out of place cable it happens. but i would still RMA it. the only way to move or really clean it would be to open it and it's two weeks old so dont want to lose your warranty just yet do ya?

The entire build is completely new as of 2 weeks ago so its still very very clean. What if I RMA it and they dont hear the noise while testing? Cause right now and for the past 5mins it has been silent

Once you have elimenated the suggestions above, then if RMA'ing be sure to tell them this is an intermittent problem. They may decide a potential repeat rma wouldn't be worth the hassle to either you or them and might just swap out anyway.

Yeah ill do that, thanks man. Posted in the RMA section, awaiting reply. I was wondering how I barely notice it that much, its cause I game with headphones on :p
