During the hot weather back in July my PC had a fit and has random issues since.

It's essential a shell at the moment, as hardware has been removed. Couldn't install OS from DVD drive, so used a USB install. Couldn't write files to SSD, but could on a standard SATA. Blue screens post boot.

No errors on POST.

Would a PSU cause total instability or has the motherboard likely gone pop?

Planning a rig upgrade, but wondering if it's worth getting a new PSU to see if it fixes the issue until I consider X99.

Can anyone recommend a boot CD that'll test PSU and other components?

I know I can look at voltage numbers in bios etc

3.3V - 3.26v
5V - 4.94
12V - 11.8

Kit fitted
Q9550
P5Q Pro
hD5870
120GB SSD
4 x 120mm fans, Noctua

Have you tried updating your bios?
What does event viewer have logged for the time of the BSODs?
Are your chipset drivers all up to date?

BIOS is latest, nothing changed re drivers.

Was listening to a podcast and it blue screened, haven't been able to get an OS on since

I suspect it's new board time

Your voltages look to be within the -/+ tolerances.

You say you can't install an OS, is that on both the ssd and hdd?

SSD fails through install, SATA finished install and then BSOD.

520W won't be up to X99 if I go that route? I don't game

The Psu will be fine with an X99 build and a low end Gpu for display.
Unless, you are WCing.

Is your Q9550 running at stock or is it OC'ed?

All stock, don't OC anymore. The future system (X99/??) I won't be OC'ing either.

I think it's motherboard
