PSU Issue ?

I have a strange issue with my PC which I think may be the PSU ?

When I press the power button the pc will start to power up but 2 seconds later will switch off only to restart 2 seconds later and boot up ?

Anyone got any ideas ?

What is your motherboard?

I get this with my ASUS V Gene when I've powered the PSU off then back on. It may be intended and changeable through the BIOS.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H

Seems strange as it don't always do it its random

Yep my Gigabyte boards have done this in the past - are you overclocked?

Also check to see if your running the latest BIOS.

My old gigabyte board used to do this, i was always told you could disable it but never found out how. Its a bit like the long delay some current ones have as a boot test of some sort

Yes got the latest bios and also overclocked

actually, just realised you have the same board as me, mine has never done this but it does have a fair delay before it starts to boot. have you tried resetting the cmos?
