Hi guys.

I'll try to explain my problems as good as I can.

Hardware list:
PSU: Enermax Noisetaker II 485w (1 month old)
Motherboards:
EPoX 8KDA3+ (754) (new)
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R (754)
Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939
ECS NFORCE3-A939 (new)

The other day, I woke up to find my PC not on. I checked to see if the power had gone down during the night and it hadn't. This is with the Gigabyte board.

First thing I check is the cables. Cables are all in fine and there's still no power to the pc.

Second thing I do is change motherboards (as I don't have a second working PSU to try). This motherboard powers up (the MSI). However, it's not one that I want to use. So I buy a new motherboard (the ECS), install it try to power it on and nothing. I read that the place I got it from had a lot of returns as they were DoA. So I find another board (the EPox), install it and still, nothing.

On a final whim, I drag out the old PSU (Antec TruPower 430w), test it out by doing http://www.dvhardware.net/modules.php?name=Sections&sop=viewarticle&artid=5 and it powers up. So then I test it in the motherboard and it powers up. However, the PSU makes a funny noise, a bit like white noise and the motherboard displays the code 'FF' on the LCD. I really don't understand what is wrong. I've been sure to cable everything correctly and make sure the motherboards are seated properly.

If the Enermax PSU works with the MSI board, how come it will no longer work with the Gigabyte board and doesn't work with the the ECS and EPoX? I really don't get it.

I'm sure that I'll confuse anyone that reads this, so apologies for this.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.
