PSU = Just died (6:55pm - 24th/1/08)

corsair HX520 should be fine for that.

or look at the higher power rating corsairs and seasonics if your usb devices draw a lot of power

any psu that has enough watts on the 12V rail and enough of the correct connectors can be used for CF.

okay , ive checked with ATI site also Enermax Infiniti 720W EIN720AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU came on there so going to buy that :)

when i can :(

i had a similar setup (1900 crossfire) but a lot more hard drives and a lot a lot of extra volts going through all the stuff and ran fine on the enermax liberty 500w :) , dont worry too much about numbers.

incidently my PSU died yesterday to :*(
it was the only thing i wasnt planning on changing anytime soon, and its the thing that breaks. 3 year warranty if i can find the receipt... :/

corsair 600w en route :D

I just hope nothing has buggred up inside :( have no way of testing anything

meh im never going to use auto save ( on IE again cant remember half my passwords ..lol) sigh...

what happened? did it pop or smoke or just die?

all i did was shutdown and i forgot something so i just pressed the power button and the system never came back on, damn luck. hoped it was the psu rather than my mobo, luckily i had an old psu knocking around which powers the board.

cuz then i wont have to upgrade my psu for ages and i prefure bigger & better things.

all the pc did was switch off like a power cut , so i thought wtf .. .went to turn it on again and smoke :(

what causes a psu to die ? for no reason after 2 years

and i cant get a warrenty as i have no proof of purchase as it was from a website ive never used so had to be from ocuk :P as they are win

Also is there anything internal that can cause a psu to die?

well now have Enermax Infiniti 720WATX2.2 in my PC very nice unit , thanks for reccomending it Chimercial.

With the old Silverstone psu , i found that on the PCB one of the defusers had (caught fire / melted) and even the 12A fuse inside didnt blow!!?! so that was that.

glad i have this new psu anyhow .. less cables & more airflow

anyway of checking to see if voltages are all okay?

lol

Well considering USB standard dictates that the MAX each USB can provide is 5V @500mA then with some very basic calculations it shows that the MAXIMUM power those 6 USB devices can draw from the PSU is a MASSIVE 15 Watts :p
