PSU Major Concern

Just bought a Corsair CX600 to replace my crappy on board PSU which kept crashing my system every time I play a game (used to crash it after about 10 secs of game time)

I've installed this new CX600 and I have a new problem.

This problem happens very randomly, it happens on some games but not all of my games. (as far as I know.) What happens is, it completely switchs off my computer, my computer boots up automatically to my Advent bootscreen. It then boots off, then boots up, and loops until I unplug the cable or flick the switch at the back.

So my question is, have I been shipped a faulty PSU or is there something else I should be concerned about?

CPU: i3 550
GPU: Nvidia GTX 660SC (1 month old)
RAM: 4bg

It's problem after problem with my system.

I would talk to COrsair about it. Try and ring up if you can as you'll get an answer much more quickly. Sounds like a faulty psi as your rig would never use more than 600 watts.

Hello iRyzza, from what you have described, it sounds like the behavior is similar to the first one. What about when your system is idle? do you get also get the random shut downs? or it only happens when you put your system under load? If it's only under load, it's worth checking your CPU temp and see if it's overheating causing the system to force shutdown. Try running Prime95 and monitor your temp - check if its running within reasonable range. I would also check the voltages on each rail of the PSU and see if they are within +/-5% of each rail. You can see by going into your BIOS under H/W monitor.
