PSU making loud noise

Hi

My PSU has suddenly started making a very loud noise after I switched on today. I assume it's the fan which is making the grinding sound.

Is this fixable? Or do I need a new PSU?

If I bought the PC from Overclockers how long is my warranty and does it cover this type of thing?

You can prove whether it's the fan or not by stopping it spinning. With the PC off stick something non-conductive into the fan so it can't spin. Then start the PC (briefly) and check if the noise has stopped.

If it is the fan check that there's nothing interfering with it. It could just be a cable that has moved.

Fans can be changed if you're competent and appreciate the dangers. The fact that you asked probably means you shouldn't do it.

You'd need to check the warranty status with OcUK customer support.
