hey guys,

so my PSU is starting to make a strange whining noise every 2-3 minutes apart, and ive decided to get a new one aswell as upgrade my rig at the same time.

this is my spec as it stands now

core i5 760 @3.6ghz
msi p55 gd80
2x4gb xms3 1600mhz
antec kuhler 620 (makes a strange clicking noise in the pump :/)
AMD HD 6990
asus DGX 5.1 sound card
antec true power 750w (going to be replacing)
CM storm trooper

im looking for high performance and silence (without going custom water loop)

so here is what im looking to get:
YOUR BASKET
2 x MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boost Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Crysis 3 & Bioshock PC Games £239.99 (£479.98)
1 x NZXT KRAKEN X60 AIO Water Cooling Unit - 280mm (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 / AMD AM2 / AM3 / AM3+ / FM1) £119.99

2 x BitFenix Spectre PRO 120mm Fan Blue LED - Black £11.99 (£23.98)
Total : £838.48 (includes shipping : £10.50).

is this all good? anything i should look at or change?
i may even just build a new rig and add x79 platform and just use my existing case and HDD's

so what do you guys think?

yep gaming, but i want to be able to on top of these games in years to come, i know you can never get future proof with these PC's but i like to have a high spec pc that can cope with the newer releases then only have to upgrade the gpu when needed :)

yeh the x79 looks fine to me bud :)

the only concern was the room it will take, and airflow issues? and i thought the x60 would perform well as its a 280mm rad instead on the 240mm like the h100/i

i like a pretty rig :D haha and all the lights and stuff

what about the gpu? 7950 CF worth it over my 6990? i have it oc'd to 900mhz core and 1300mhz memory atm, must admit tho, it sounds like a harrier airfeild is next to me lol

Any reason why you have suggested he antec cooler and gigabyte board?

Im going to be a pain but the last three builds ive had have beem msi mobo's so i will rather stick with msi in that area.

Has the issues been sorted with the h100i yet?
Also can i use my ram with an x79 rig? Its dual channel tho

I was thinking about it, but tbh its not worth a lot and i mite aswell keep it as a spare pc or something.

I will be replacing stock fans with any clc i get, want as quite as possible.

So if i go to a x79 platform and a couple of 7950's how long am i looking at befote im gonna have the open the bank account again? Ive seen that crysis 3 is using a few cores now

Is 2 sets of dual channel then classed as quad channel when ran together?
