PSU Mod Query

I am pretty certain i know the answer, but i just wanted to double check before i plug it into my new 1070. I have a Bequiet! PSU where all of the PCI cables have a 6+2 and 6pin running of the one plug on the PSU.

Will i be okay to remove the wiring altogether for the unneeded 6 pin?
