Suggestions welcome.

I'll try and keep it as short as possible....

I bought a corsair hx620w PSU at the weekend to put into a 2nd pc.
connected it to an Asus p5n32 sli se deluxe Motherboard and installed windows, updated/installed software etc.

I came to switch it on tonight and nothing happens, looking at the motherboard shows a flashing green LED. (nothing in manual troubleshooting for this)

Tried all of the disconnecting and reconnecting one at a time to no avail.

So I took the psu out and put it into my other PC and connected all plugs and it worked fine/booted into windows?

So I then took the Enermax Galaxy 1000 from that PC and connected it to the P5n32 connecting all plugs etc and that worked fine/booted into windows?

So thinking I'd solved it I put them (corsair/P5n32) back together and the green LED still flashes?

Hopefully someone will have suffered a similar problem,

Thanks.

If the green light is flashing that means you're not getting proper 5v from your PSU (apparently)

Does this board need both a 24 pin and 8pin (2x4) ?

Yes it has both, also the other motherboard I tried it in also has both but it works in that one, it's as if they just dont like each other.

It could be something like a pin on the 24 pin ATX or on the motherboard, but when I swap PSU's around and they both work then it surely rules things like that out?

Maybe theres something in the 5v side, its not pushing out enough 5v for one M/B but it is for the other?

Whilst its rare it isnt unknown for mobos/psu's to not like each other (technical term, lol) though havent heard of it with asus boards before, evga a few times but not asus

Yeah it's looking more likely to be the case, I tried an Antec Neo power 480 and that worked fine.
It works powering a Gigabyte M/B + 7800GTX and an Asus Striker + Q9650 + 280GTX so its not like its got an obvious problem or just not got the oomph.

Whats more baffling is that it DID work enough to install windows and updates etc......

Thanks anyway for suggestions........:)
