would it be safe to mount my PSU upside down?

at thre moment the 6 min connector is at the top of my mobo and the wires come out of my PSU on the far side. the 6 pin cable is therefore not long enough to go round the back and up to the top of the mobo.

mounting the psu upside down would move the wires out on the psu to the mobo side and they would then reach but is this safe or will my psu be caused damage?

You can have it either way up,

Is there any vents under the PSU in the case?

Is it top or bottom mounted?

What is the case its in?

i have a Cooler Master CM Storm Enforcer Mid tower Case and the psu is bottom mounted. there is a mesh vent under the psu on the bottom of the case i beleive. The way it is mounted at present, i beleive there is a fan on the bottom of the psu

You should be able to mount the psu the other way up, this will draw air from the case rather than fresh from outside.

But! This will depend of the psu back plate can be turned around.

Not really, may help during warmer months and when the psu is under load, but this would be no difference if the psu was mounted at the top the case.

will its source of air make any difference?

Not really, but if its getting it from outside the case then the PSU should be running cooler.

If the case is on thick carpet then you would want to place it on a piece of wood etc to stop the vents getting blocked.

Sadly I think most would be competitors of Ocuk which we can't mention here, it would be a case of Googling.
