Hey guys, just getting my system together and was wondering what sort of PSU i would need, i have no idea what wattage i would need...

MY spec will be...

EVGA 680I mobo
EVGA 8800gts 320mb
E6600 C2D
Xi-Fi gamer sound card
Swiftech ulra + water colling
4gb Crucial ballistix 8500 RAM
WD 150gb raptor
2x 320gb seagate barracudas.
SATA DVDRW

Thanks a lot,

James.

Really? I was thinking it would prolly be more like 700-800w needed, had no idea it would be as low as 520w.

Thanks again guys, i owe u all :D

James.

not all just to do with wattage, have to take into consideration the efficiency of the PSU, stability of the rails and the ampage per rail...

The Corsair PSU's are exceedingly efficient and thus can run practically anything... a 620w corsair will power 88gtx SLi without issue...

520w is more than enough for your spec, but the 620w will give you better future-proofing..

Ahh yes, I guess it is, i have put down a 620w as i aim to do geforce 9 series SLI eventually with a quad core.

Thanks,

James.

It's not often I end up buying something everybody else recommends, but I have the Corsair 620W PSU, thanks to a very comprehensive review at silentpcreviews and I'm very happy with it.

Mine runs...

An overvolted, overclocked Opteron 185.
Overvolted AN8 Fatal1ty SLi
2GB of overvolted RAM
12v waterpump
2 DVD drives
7 hard drives
5 120mm fans
2 80mm fans
1 overclocked 8800GTX

The air coming out of it right now is cold, the fan is hardly turning, and it's silent.
