I have just replaced my 9800GTX with a GTX260 216 and when under load for instance the Half Life 2: Lost Cost stress test or FurMark the machine will lock up and display a single colour on the screen. When running FurMark with GPUZ running the temps hit 60oC but I notice its pulling in 75-80amps, surley this can't be right? My PSU is a Antec Basq 500w with 36amps on the 12v rails. Any ideas?

Hi m8

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the new card!

Can you play any games at all?

I have a 260gtx ssc and could play some games but others would shut machine off.
I was using a Hyper 730watt type R and it couldn’t handle it (was 1 month from end of a 3 year warranty), took it back to store and found it to be undervolting - swapped for a corsair worked great.
No more lock ups or instant shut offs.

But-

My card has given up the ghost after sorting that problem and many hours of gaming.
started off with the odd flashing of small colored squares in game now and again,
then went to Trying to run a game or 3d mark and ended up crashing the machine(black or messed up multi coloured screen)not long after starting .
Now being RMAed!
Evga believe it to be a memory issue as the gpu is not overheating.
Had tried loads of different drivers different motherboard, ram and new case (Antec 1200)
Before Using ATI tool to test memory on card and got a crash within 10seconds.

Hope this may be of some help to you and save you a bit of time in sorting your problem.
