I am having intermittent issues with my PC whereby it will not power on at all. Remving the Power cable from the PSU and leaving it for a while seems to resolve. I removed all components and replaced in my case yesterday after giving it a good clean and was getting no output from the Grpahics card. I switched the 2 6 pin connectors and it powered on, however the GFX card started smoking! I immediately shut down and have had a look and one of the SMD chips on the GFX card appears to have burnt out. Looking at my 2 6-pin connectors, one of them appears to be slightly melted as well. I have switched the 2 6-pin connectors back over and it seems to work fine, however something is obviously not right! Does this sound like the GFX card or the PSU is at fault, and can I claim from which ever is faulty for the damage to the other component? GFX card is a Gigabyte 7950 and the PSU is a Fractal Design Smart Modular 800W
