Afternoon
Got back from reading festival monday morning, retrieved my beautiful 1tb samsung drive in its icy box and slotted it into its 5.25" tray, and turned my computer on. Big surprise, the icy box wasn't connecting properly, something i've found common to them so naturally the computer couldnt boot because it couldnt find the hdd.
So, perhaps somewhat impatiently, rather than pressing the reset or even the power button and holding it, i just flicked off the power switch on my psu.
A loud pop and a small flash followed, with everything going off. Naively figured there might be some life in the psu, so unplugged everything, left it for 20 minutes and then tried again. Nothing.
Now, without a spare psu lying around to check, is it likely that the psu has fried everything? Or merely committed suicide and protected the mobo and attached bits from the ensuing surge?
(PSU is the enermax liberty 400w)
Thoughts?
