Building gaming pc in N64 case - so I need an external power supply.

Does it need any form of case ?

Not really, but it's quite impractical. If it would be powerful enough, have a look at the PicoPSU.

Not wanting to rain in your parade or anything, but how is ending up with a greater number of boxes conducive to portability? I'd consider a larger console shell if you want to stick with the idea, and make it self contained.
