I have received coolermaster Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W Modular PSU, and noticed it had dodgy PCI-E connectors... I went on official site and checked few reviews and PCI-E connector should look like this normally on this exact PSU.

But mine looks like this

Maybe it is from another model and I should get it replaced?? or is it fine to use. I have 2 of those cables, and each one has 2(6 pin) and 1 (2pin)

Nothing wrong there,

The Grey end goes into the PSU.

The other end has a 6pin and a 6+2pin (join together to make a 8pin) for different cards.

Yeah, or if you have two of these cables use one 6pin from each.

Ok cheers, I think guys who sent me this mixed up their cables possibly from other psus...

I have one more question, which i posted in video card section but did not get a reply, ocUK 560ti, does its fans intake or exhaust air? Do you know ? :)

Thank a lot, you have been very helpful in last few days... Building computer tomorrow so I am worried :)

Intakes air and blows down onto the heatsink fins on the card.

Or if its a "blower" type fan it blows air across the heatsink fins.

Its absolutely fine, im sure they are the right cables for the PSU, perhaps there been a revision since reviews.

But yours are flat just like they should be.

Yeah I guess you were rights, its a new revision :)

About the video card... I got a fan on my door on a case... My case provider suggest to put it on intake so air blows into GPU area... If a video card is a blower would it be better to put that fan on exhaust??

And also on subject of PSU, which way would you suggest mounting in? Writing on itself (I mean voltage info and the name) indicates that it should be mounted fan downwords if it isnt then writing is upside down.

Thanks

Do not alter the direction of the fan on your GFX, it will be setup to work as it comes out of the box correctly, im sure the engineers and technicians who designed it know what they are doing;)

As for the PSU, if your case has vents under the PSU then turn it so the fan is sucking up from under the case and exhauting out of the rear of the PSU, if you have the case on carpet, have the fan facing into the case.

Cheers for the PSU, but about case.. I didnt mean direction of the way fan blows on GFX but on my case door :) So i meant if the card is a blower, should I put my case door fan on exhaust to take worm air away rather than intake ? :)
