Well I built the AGP based system and it is working fine with a FX5500 in it. Next project is PCI Express but I keep reading about PSU supply. Some take special plugs??? I bought a cheap case today with a PSU built in (to go with the rest of my cheapo bits) It has standard plugs.

So whats the score? While I am asking. SATA. Can you get adapters for a standard PSU?

With regards to the PSU, u may be better off buying a separate PSU from a reputable manufacturer (corsair, antec etc). Newer PSUs seem to come with either SATA and PCI-X connectors built in or at least adapters.

The worst thing u can do is spend loads of money on a decent system for it to fail/get destroyed by a shoddy PSU.

That does make sense. Thing is I am trying to build using bits I can blag, and am doinig quite well. I will be building from new soon but this is practice. So if I get a PCIe card with new plugs, can you get an adapter?
