Hey guys I was just wondering whether my xfx xxx 650w psu would be able to cope with another gtx 460?

You can't have more than 2 in SLI anyway so unless a third one was for PhysX it would be wasted.

OP, have you made sure you have an SLI compatible motherboard?

I assume you only have one 460 now.

yeah I currently have an msi gtx 460 cyclone 768mb

you can't do tri sli with gtx 460s, or can you?

Interesting.

If you Google "P55A-G55 SLI" there's some talk of it being SLI compatible :confused:

But according to the manufacturers it's not.

nope, you need a special chip on your motherboard to do SLI (nf 200 i believe). you motherboard clearly doesnt have it

your best course of action would be to sell the GTX460 and put the money in the pot for a bigger graphics card, prehaps the nvidia 560Ti or ATI 5870

I have £120 just now so if I manage to sell my 460 at that price then I'd have £200 so I'd probably get a 6950 or 570

I think I'd rather just get one card as it means I can just add another if I feel slowdown later in the year or next year
