PSU powerful enough?

I have a Corsair AX860 PSU, and recently upgraded to a RTX3090 GPU. Later expecting to upgrade with a Z590 motherboard and a Intel Core i9 11900K. I am fairly sure the 860w PSU will handle the upgrade, as I have seen full PC systems with same hardware with 750w PSU's. Just want to make sure?

Should be fine yes. I wouldn't want to go much lower than 750W, but will be well suited. Those suggesting 850W are more saying that for headroom. I doubt your setup would ever draw more than 650W, unless you're doing some extreme overclocks.

I am conservative and advise not to overclock
As that psu has been around for awhile and might be a couple of years old

Should be fine as long as you dont overclock

Exactly, unless you're doing LN2 overclocking or have 10 hard drives attached to it 860W will have no problem whatsoever.

YMMV, not just about average load but transient current spikes and the OCP design of the PSU.
