is it just me or does i feel like General PSU prices have rocketed recently?

struggle to get a decent 650w for 60 ish

It's not just you, PSU and GPU prices have been trending upwards since the publicity around Litecoin (and it's more current derivatives) mining really kicked off. Supply and demand from all accounts, I'm afraid.
