Today I took my NZXT Hale 850w power supply apart to get rid of the spare 8 pin mb connector and the sata power connectors. I've shortened the 8 pin by cutting all 8 wires and putting them back into the connectors, I've shortened the sata power cables by cutting all 5 wires and then insulating them.
Now my psu won't power up. If I bridge the green and black wire it will power up the fan so i got my multimeter out and have the following
All orange wires have 3.37v
All red 5.14v
Grey and purple 5.13v
Yellow 12.3v
Blue - 12.16v
All pins show readings yet if i plug into a mobo, i get nothing at all, no fan spin, nothing, nada, nout.
All wires are in the correct place, and ive literally only shortened a few wires so there shouldn't be any change.
Any ideas folks?
