I have a strange problem: bought a new PSU - ThermalTake 850W Modular. Old one was Enermax 500W.
When Plugged the new PSU and started the system nothing happened except fans and hdd is spinning. Mobo has the power but I'm not etting POST screen. Nothing for 5-10 seconds then system is shutting down. Tried everything, changed all components, nothing. When plugged old PSU, all working ok. New one.. nope... I know many issues like that are casued by CPU, but mine is ok. All works with old PSU.

So PSU must be returned?

with it being a modular PSU are you sure you have plugged in the correct 4 pin 12v AUX cable for CPU.
i have a silverstone modular PSU and it has 2 4 pin aux cables but only one will power the cpu properly

Yes, all cables were plugged correctly. This PSU has 2 4pin and 1 8pin cables - one 4pin goes with the big one to mobo power, second 4pin is for CPU and 8pin power connector.

Everything is plugged correctly, but still not working...

Do you have a spare system you can test the Thermaltake PSU in.
If your old Enermax works and your pc starts then it could well be a faulty PSU!

dont have a spare system. Yes, old psu works, starts fine.
New one wont start the system, well its starts up itsefl, CPU cooler fan is spinning, hdd starts as well. Even my ram leds - Crucial ballistix tracers have two leds - one at the bottom and row of leds on top. Those at the bottom lights up, but top ones wont light up - no data moving through the ram... no screen on lcd, nothing...
