Hi all,

I have been having quite an annoying problem for the past few weeks. Basically I press the power button and there is a delay of 5 to 10 seconds before the computer starts. Sometimes this doesn't even happen and I need to physically switch on and off the power supply button.

I have never seen this issue before of heard about it, I tried searching for it but got some random stuff like unplugging the printer which of course didn't work! :D

Any ideas?

I am thinking PSU but I might be mistaken.

Specs below:

Intel i5 2500k
AsRock Z68 Extreme 4
8 GB G.Skill PC12800
Seasonic X650

Thanks!

I would first check all the wires in the build before you look at parts as suspects. It's unlikely to be a cause but if it is it would save a lot of trouble :)

Thanks for the replies.

I've had this computer for more than a year now and never had this problem before. I will have a look tonight anyway.

Ok, so had a look at all the connections. They all look ok to me. There is even a power button on the motherboard and that didn't work.

Any other suggestions? I tend to think the PSU.

I have sent an email to Seasonic and they have already replied asking me for serial numbers and stuff so hopefully I will have a new psu sometime next week.
